Happy St. Patrick's Day!
We're closing in on the end of the year with our last unit, Imagining Other Worlds. In this unit, we'll be exploring the genres of historical and science fiction, learning about their similarities and differences, and how the two genres are related.
In the coming weeks, we're also spending quality time focusing on our reading strategies, using "Signposts" to learn what we should notice as good readers, just a good drivers notice signposts on the road. Check out the signposts on the Resources Page if you're curious to see what we've been doing.
With our focus on reading, it is even more important that students are bringing their SSR books to class every single day. We got a bit lax about that with our book club, but it is very important to me that my students are reading something they have selected and that they want to read, not just a random book off my shelf. Please help your student remember his or her book each day for ELA!
